PAMCo (The Publishers Audience Measurement Company) are the governing body overseeing audience measurement for the published media industry in the United Kingdom. PAMCo’s methodology integrates print readership and demographic data from a high-quality survey of 13,540 participants per year with digital audience estimates supplied by Ipsos iris.

Ipsos, founded in 1975, is a leading market research agency assessing media audiences in over 70 countries worldwide. Present throughout the industry, Ipsos works with numerous partners to produce audience measurement data across different sectors, including radio listening, Internet use, and magazine and newspaper readership.

Your donations

We at Ipsos wanted to extend a thank-you to all of our 2023 participants for their generosity! Thanks to your choice to donate your thank-you gifts, we raised a total of £27,675 across our nominated charities last year, with the largest proportion being donated to NHS Charities Together.

What can you expect?

What can you expect?
If you have had a visit from an interviewer or received one of our letters or postcards, you have been invited to take part in our survey. This survey may be conducted by an interviewer or completed online.

Do I have to take part?
This survey is voluntary, so you do not need to take part, you are welcome to opt out by calling us at 0800 819 9151 or emailing us here: PAMCoHELP@ipsos.com

How long does the survey take to complete?
The survey takes approximately 20-25 minutes to complete. However, this varies between participants, and everyone’s experience is different.

If you are completing the PAMCo survey after a member of your household has taken part in the Barb survey with one of our interviewers, your PAMCo survey will be shorter – about 12 minutes on average if you do the survey with an interviewer or about 15 minutes on average if you do the survey online in your own time.

Will I be compensated?
Yes. If you take part in the survey, you will receive a voucher for Amazon, or Love2Shop. Alternatively, you can opt to donate your thank-you gift to one of our charities.

What happens to my data if I take part?
Everything you tell us is confidential and protected by law. We only report anonymised data, so nobody will be able to identify you from your answers. We won’t send you any junk mail, and nor will anyone else. Your data is covered by the Data Protection Act and GDPR.

If you have experienced an issue with the survey

Some people, particularly those with older Android operating systems, may experience an error when entering numbers into the script. If you have access to another phone/tablet/laptop or PC you may find that this issue can be resolved by using a different device.

To switch devices is easy: close down the survey on the device you were using and wait 2 minutes before accessing the survey on your new device. You will be able to continue from the point that you had previously reached

If, after changing devices, you are still getting an error message and can’t continue with the survey, please do let us know and include your survey ID in your email to PAMCoHELP@ipsos.com

Accessing the online survey

How can I access the online survey?
The survey can be accessed using the QR code, or web address you have received in the post, or from an interviewer, or you can access it using the “Start Survey” button at the top of this page.

What information do I need to get started?
The survey will require 2 codes to access, each being 4 characters. These codes will be written on the paperwork you have received or may have been given to you by an interviewer.

4 characters should be entered into each box visible on the screen. An image is included below to help you

Completing the online survey

Instructions and information are provided throughout the survey to guide you.

My passwords aren’t working.
Please make sure you have correctly entered the passwords as above, using the correct number/letter combination. If you are still experiencing issues, please get in touch with us here: PAMCoHELP@ipsos.com. Include your password in the email so we can locate the issue.

I am experiencing an error with the survey.
Please try clearing your browser history and/or cache by using your browsers settings (typically located in the top right hand corner of your browser application) before revisiting the link.

Thank you gifts

When will I receive my thank-you gift?
At the end of the survey you will be able to choose from one of 3 options.

  1. A voucher to spend at Love2Shop
  2. A voucher to spend at Amazon
  3. A donation to one of our charities

If you choose to donate, the money will be donated by Ipsos to the selected charity. If you choose a voucher, you should receive it within 7 working days of completing your survey. Occasionally, we experience delays, so please bear with us. If you have waited longer than 2 weeks for your voucher, feel free to get in touch and we can help: PAMCoHELP@ipsos.com.
