What information will Ipsos UK collect about you, how is it used, and what is Ipsos UK’s legal basis for processing your personal data?

Ipsos UK is the independent controller of the PAMCo data. Ipsos UK requires a legal basis or bases to identify the legal basis to process your personal data.

Ipsos UK’s legal basis for processing the data from the questions that you answer when you take part in the PAMCo survey is your ‘informed consent’ to take part in the PAMCo study. If you wish to withdraw your consent at any time, please see the section below covering ‘Your Rights’.

Alongside the answers you provide when you take part in the PAMCo survey, we will also process some of the data about you and your household that you provided as part of your participation in the RAJAR Survey. The privacy notice for the RAJAR survey can be found here.

If you take part in the PAMCo survey, the following information, collected as part of the RAJAR Survey, is processed alongside the PAMCo data under the legal basis of informed consent.

  • The occupational details of the main income earner in your household

  • Whether you are responsible for your household’s general household and grocery shopping

The RAJAR survey also collects personal data that is categorised under GDPR as ‘special category data’ and for which we are required to specify separately the legal basis for processing.

The following ‘special category’ information will be also processed alongside the PAMCo data under the legal basis of ‘informed consent’:

  • Ethnic background
  • Whether you have any long-term physical or mental health conditions or illness

We make you aware when you first agree to take part in the PAMCo survey, and again when you give your consent at the start of the PAMCo Survey, that some of the data collected about you and your household in the RAJAR survey will be processed with the answers you provide in the PAMCo survey.
